Haydon

Dr. Sally Ann Haydon, 55, of Versailles, died Sunday, April 13, 2014.

Born Feb. 10, 1959, in Versailles, she was the daughter of Charles Haydon and the late Jane Montgomery Haydon. She was president and founder of the ISSRA, owner of Bluegrass Riding Academy, professor and chair of equine studies and vice president of academic affairs at Midway College, and a former board member of The Cleveland Home. She was a member of Midway Christian Church.

In addition to her father, she is survived by three sisters, Charlene Haydon and Amy (Mike) Turner, both of Versailles, and Pam (Ray) Paulin, of Winston Salem, N.C.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Midway Christian Church by the Rev. Heather McColl. Burial will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. Immediately after the burial, a reception to honor her life will be held at Addie’s at the Woodford Inn, 140 Park Street, Versailles. Casket bearers will be Joe Haydon, Mike Turner, Ray Paulin, Joey Johnson, Pat Nary, and John Willard. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, April 17, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill.

Moore

Mildred Carter Moore, 83, of Millville, wife of James L. "Pudgy" Moore Jr., died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Gallahue Carter. She was a retired employee of National Distillers and was a member of the Millville Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of almost 68 years, she is survived by two sons, Larry (Linda) Moore, Versailles, and James Scott (Dee Dee) Moore, Millville; a daughter-in-law, Valarie Moore, Versailles; a brother, Donald (Jo Carroll) Carter, Versailles; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, Stephen Carter Moore; two sisters, Virginia Wiley and Peggy Hippe; a brother, Frank James Carter; and a daughter-in-law, Jeanette "Punky" Moore, are deceased.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, Thursday, April 17, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today by the Rev. Mike Hamrick. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Stephen Moore, Lawrence Moore, James Moore, Tony Paynter, Matthew Quire, and Wallace Morton.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Sharp

Olson Sharp, 71, of Versailles, husband of Martha Sharp, died Sunday, April 13, 2014.

Born April 29, 1942, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Wade and Margaret Sharp. He was a plumber for Frantz Inc.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Gatrost, Lexington; two sons, Otis Sharp Jr. and Matthew Sharp, both of Lexington; a sister, Etta Sharlein, Wisconsin; two brothers, Donald (Carol) Sharp, Versailles, and Ronald (Jean) Sharp, Frankfort; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, April 17, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. Frank Layne. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Otis Sharp Jr., Matthew Sharp, Wesley Sharp, Adam Sharp, Alex Sharp, and Larry Gatrost.
