Heerman

Lucille "Cele/Louie" Mills Heerman, wife of Victor Heerman, Jr., has died at her home in California.

She was a Lexington native and resident of Woodford County, the daughter of Melbourne and Frances Berry Mills.

Survivors include a brother, Melbourne Mills Jr.; a daughter, Leslie Heerman; two granddaughters, Lucie and Beatrix Heerman, two nieces, Nancy Drake and Susan Sanders; and two nephews, John Koenig, and Victoria Koenig.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at 147 Walnut Street, Versailles.

Sutherland

Ethel Juanita "Nita" Yates Sutherland, 68, of Millville, wife of Andy Sutherland, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at her home.

Born in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Stella Hixson Yates and was a Baptist. She was a former employee of the Jim Beam Distillery and deputy jailer at the Woodford County Detention Center.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Robbie (Pamela) Yates, Lloyd Neal (Kristin Carter) Graham, and Debbie Graham, all of Danville, Dale (Teresa) Graham and Melissa (Lucian) Thompson, both of Frankfort, and Ray (Paula Carpenter) Graham, Harrodsburg; a sister, Ruth Record, Tennessee; a brother, Shug (Vonda) Yates, Danville; 17 grandchildren; 11 stepchildren; and numerous great- and step-great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Jump. Burial was in Rose Crest Cemetery. Casket bearers were Greg Graham, Brandon Graham, Donnie Graham, Matthew Graham, Steven Edwards, Dustin Thomas, Ralph Lay, and Jason Sutherland.

Washburn

Harold Francis Washburn, 92, of Versailles, widower of Irene Lloyd Washburn, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.

Born May 16, 1921, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Ira and Maggie Lawson Washburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former employee of General Mills.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Lynn English, Lexington, and Sheryl Kay Washburn, Ohio; two sons, Jack Edward Washburn and Daryl Wayne Washburn, both of Versailles; four sisters, Betty Jo Quisenberry, Versailles, Louise Crammer and Lucy Shuler, both of Indiana, and Jean Starnes, Lexington; a brother, James Washburn; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, was in charge of arrangements.
