Malone

Vickie Cheryl (Flora) Malone, 50, was a woman full of genuine love for family and friends. Her family was a great source of strength to her and she was proud to be a part of their lives. Vickie loved her husband, Doug, her father and stepmother, Sheridan and Norma Flora, and her only sister, Lisa. She was always interested in the family stories, new babies, and successes of her nephews, and nieces.

Vickie graduated from Woodford County High in 1974 and still maintained a fondness and affection for the friends she made there. She worked in Woodford County for several years. Vickie was a gifted singer and was invited by Gov. Brereton C. Jones to the Governor’s Mansion to sing. She also touched many hearts by singing at church revivals, weddings and family get-togethers.

Vickie was born June 29, 1958, the first child born to Sheridan and Eula Mae Flora. She was blessed with her baby sister, Lisa, when she was six years old, and grew up in a family with strong character and faith. She will be remembered for her quiet and deep love for her family and friends.

Vickie was a foster mother to 10 children: David, Matt, Jerry, Sierra, Travis, Ishmael, Josh, Jeff, Kaylee and Marius. She loved each of them as her own and felt God provided her with the children she had always wanted. Vickie Cheryl Malone was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Mae Flora. Vickie has passed into Glory – and her loss is deeply felt by her father and stepmother, Sheridan and Norma; her husband, Doug, and sister, Lisa. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Trish Malone, who lovingly shared her home with Vickie and Doug as her illness progressed. Additionally she leaves her sister-in law, Anita, and wonderful niece and nephew, Josh and Abby. Vickie had a special bond with her sister, Lisa, and was fond of her two nephews, Cory and Drew. Vickie made friends wherever she went and leaves behind several in Noblesville, Ind., Union, Ohio, and Nashville Tennessee. Vickie loved the Lord, and stayed the course. She boldly said goodbye here and by her faith went to be with Jesus. A special thank you for the calls and prayers for Vickie, for the loving hands who cared for her, and for the devoted presence of her loved ones - Trish, Sheridan, Norma, Lisa, and the love of her life, Doug.
