Louis F. Chadwell
Louis Floyd Chadwell, 67, of Midway, husband of Shirley Robinson Chadwell, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Casey County, he was the son of the late Les Franklin and Mary Welch. Mr. Chadwell was a 50-year employee of D. Lehman & Sons Antiques in Midway.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mary Alice Richardson, Richmond; Virginia Thompson and Kristy Johnson, both of Lexington, and Anita Chadwell, Michigan; four sons, Louis Chadwell, Lexington; James Chadwell, Georgetown; Joe Bill Stamper, Carlisle, and John Chadwell, Midway; a sister, Laura Donovan, Versailles; two brothers, Gilbert Chadwell, Frankfort, and Cotton Chadwell, Florida; 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Friday, July 7, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel, Versailles. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers were William Lehman, Rudy Stamper, Jody Lambert, Howard Lambert, Louis Chadwell Jr., and Mark Workman.
Wilma J. Donnell
Wilma J. Donnell, 50, of Lexington, daughter of Ann Kincaid Donnell Showalter of Lawrenceburg and the late James Donnell, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at the Lexington Center for Health & Rehabilitation. She was a native of Woodford County.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Arthur Showalter, Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Mary Faust and Barbara Hamilton, both of Versailles; two brothers, Ray Donnell, Versailles, and James Donnell Jr., Frankfort; four nieces, and three nephews.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel, Versailles, by the Rev. Rick Clark. Burial was in the Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles. Casket bearers were Jason Wachter, J. D. Hamilton, Ray Donnell Jr., William Hamilton, Fred Faust, and Darrell Hamilton.
Frances L. Flynn
Frances Leeds Flynn, 88, of Lexington, widow of James Price Flynn, died Sunday, July 9, 2000.
She was a native of Bourbon Co., the daughter of the late George and Rose Whaley Leeds. A homemaker, she was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy F. Shipp, Versailles, and Joyce F. Agee, Lexington; three grandchildren, Lynn McIntosh, Gregory L. Agee, and Steven F. Agee, and a great-grandchild.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway, Lexington, by Dr. Benjamin Hahn. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery.
Lillian Bernice Hector Gagnon, 55, of Lawrenceburg, wife of Lyle "Pete" Gagnon, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at her residence after a long illness.
She was a native of Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Merle and Irene Adams Hector. She was a former Florida Tile employee.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gagnon is survived by a daughter, Chrisie Halvorson, Lawrenceburg; a son, James Prendergast, Chicago; three stepsons, Lyle Joseph Gagnon Jr., Versailles; Craig Gagnon, Minnesota, and Bryan Gagnon, Louisiana; two stepdaughters, Lolita Camp and Melody Cook, both of Louisiana; a brother, Louis Hector, Chicago; three sisters, Irene Moeller, Lowell, Ind.; Diane Paulick, Las Vegas, Nev., and Bonnie Wyllie, Centralia, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Beatrice Prendergast, Muriel O'Bryan, and Lorraine Wells, are deceased.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, by the Rev. Mike Hamrick. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele St., Frankfort, Ky. 40601-2744.
Bertha M. Wasson
Bertha M. Wasson, 86, of Versailles, widow of William Reid Wasson, died on her 86th birthday, June 26, 2000.
Born in Bath County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Myrtle Horseman Robinson. Mrs. Wasson was a member of the King's Way Assembly of God Church, Versailles.
She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Simpson, Versailles, and Joyce Beck, Waverly, Tenn.; four sons, Billy Wasson, Washington; Jimmie Wasson, Tekax, Yucatan, Mexico; Carl Wasson, Cynthiana, and Jerry Wasson, Carlisle; a sister, Ola Conyers, Carlisle; a brother, Clell Robinson, Mount Sterling; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. A son, Woodie Wasson; a brother; three sisters; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild are deceased.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel, Versailles, by the Rev. Jimmie Wasson and the Rev. Joseph Girdler. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Mrs. Wasson's grandsons served as casket bearers.
