John Lee Cushingberry, 63,of Versailles, husband of Linda Campbell Cushingberry, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Brack and Juanita Franklin Cushingberry, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and was a retired employee of Kuhlman Electric Corporation. He was a former member of the Kentucky National Guard, was a volunteer firefighter with the Versailles Fire Department, and was a Baptist.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Danielle Cushingberry, Versailles; a son, Joey (Casey) Cushingberry, Lexington; two grandchildren, Marlee and Journey Cushingberry; two sisters, Alicia Cushingberry, Versailles, and Sandra (Timothy) Dale, Millersburg; four brothers, Brack Cushingberry Jr., Newport, James Cushingberry and Jeffery Cushingberry, both of Versailles, and Joseph Cushingberry, Frankfort; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services were conducted Tuesday, July 2, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Floyd Greene. Burial with military honors was at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers were Keith Curry, Carl Ford, Greg Muir, Timothy Dale, Garland Jackson, and Richard Middleton. Honorary bearers were Larry Hudson, William Maxberry, Charlie Brown, Joe Cushingberry, Chris Cushingberry, John Dawson, Daniel Gooch, and T.J. Jackson Jr.

Woodford Roark, 90, widower of Catherine Hellard Roark, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Frankfort.

Born April 24, 1923, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late John and Mittie Wombles Roark. He worked as a carpenter and served in the United States Army. He fought in World War II, where he was awarded the Victory Medal for his service.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara (Jim) Turpin, Frankfort, Helen Turpin, Frankfort, Shirley Roark, Clay City, and Bobbie Butler, Lawrenceburg; two sons, Ken (Lisa) Roark, Wilder, and Woodford (Lindsey) Roark, Versailles; a brother, Anderson Roark, Lexington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Six brothers, Bill Roark, Roscoe Roark, Lawrence Roark, Herman Roark, Henry Roark, and Bob Roark, and two sisters, Ellen Wade and Stella Roark, are deceased.

Services were conducted Friday, June 28, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, Frankfort, by Brother Gilbert R. Wooldridge. Entombment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Linda Hisle Robinson, 65, of Frankfort, wife of Hugh M. Robinson, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

Born July 6, 1947, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Lula Wardle Hisle. She was a homemaker.
