Brown

Jeffrey Nelson Brown, 41, died Sunday June 8, 2008, in Frankfort.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of James E. and Linda Sims Brown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Tammy J. Brown, Frankfort.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles Road, Frankfort.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele Street, Frankfort, KY 40601.

Flora

Lucille Traugott Flora, 79, of Versailles, widow of Tommie Flora, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born Oct. 24, 1928, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late James and Cordie Patterson Traugott. She was a member of the Midway Nazarene Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Joanne (Dempsie) Cress, Connie Lewis, Patricia (Odis) Owens, Margaret (Obie) Barber, and Teresa (Wade) Angel, all of Versailles; two sons, James (Cheryl) Flora and Gary (Rosemary) Flora, both of Versailles; two sisters, Marcella Flora, Ohio, and Faye Owens, Versailles; three brothers, Marvin Traugott, Midway, and Charles Traugott and Russell Traugott, both of Versailles; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A brother, Maurice Traugott, is deceased.

Services were conducted Tuesday, June 10, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. Gary Maynard. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Darrell Lewis, Justin Angel, Mark, Jeff and Steve Cress, Brett Lowry, and Obie Barber.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Harlow

Minnie Elizabeth Harlow, 77, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Woodford County, wife of Samuel O. Harlow, died Monday, June 10, 2008, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Clara Updike Bowman.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by two sisters, Melvina Berger, Versailles, and Irene Darnell, Lawrenceburg; a brother, Claude Bowman, Nicholasville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, June 12, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Frankie Layne. Interment will follow at the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Davey Richards, David Richards, Justin White, Jamie White, Damon Brooks, and Jimmy Downey II.

Henson

Elmo Henson, 87, of Lexington, husband of Elaine Ruth Henson, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center.

Born in Harrison County, he was the son of the late Mark and Frances Perkins Henson. He was a retired truck driver for OK Trucking and he was employed by Adesa Auctions Lexington until February 2008. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union #651 and attended Highlands Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carole Henson (Ted) Cohen, The Villages, Fla., Richard (Reba) Henson, Berea, and Barry (Janet) Henson, Nicholasville; eight grandchildren, Keith (Annette) Kranepool, Mosley, Va., Dr. Derek (Bobbi) Henson, Versailles, Whitney Henson, Jeffersonville, Ind., Richard and Randall Blanton, both of Berea, Jason (Joy) Henson, Lexington, and Brett and Jena Durham, both of Nicholasville; and nine great-grandchildren, Ethan and Andrew Kranepool, Katie, Abby, Benjamin, Dane and Emma Henson and Erica and Trevor Blanton.

Services were conducted Tuesday, June 10, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, by the Rev. James K. Pierce. Burial was in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Moore

Dena Marie Schickinger Moore, 45, of Frankfort, wife of Bill Moore, died Thursday, June 5, 2008.

Born Dec. 27, 1962, in Louisville she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy Ebertshauser Schickinger. She was an executive secretary with the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Claire Marie Moore; a son, Wesley Preston Moore; a stepson, Joshua Moore; a sister, Diana Meadors, Louisville; two brothers, David Schickinger and Douglas Schickinger, both of Louisville; and three nieces, Renee Bailey, Kim Bramlett, and Kelly Brewer.

Services were conducted Tuesday, June 10, at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles Road, Frankfort. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Russell

Virginia Robinson, 86, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Bloomington, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Kavanaugh and Lura Robinson. She was a retired nurse from Woodford Memorial Hospital and a member of Gardenside Christian Church.

Survivors include three children, Jeannine Gaiek, Georgia, Lura (Charles) Kurtz, Lexington, and John Russell; a granddaughter, Lura Gaiek, Georgia; a great-grandson, Joshua Pavone; a sister, Bernadine Baber; and a nephew, Marty Baber.

Services were conducted Friday, June 6, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery.
