Brophy Raymond Gene Brophy, 82, of Frankfort, widower of Joyce Brophy, died Monday, June 1, 2009. Born March 15, 1927, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Hallie Barker Brophy. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Dunaway, Burgin, and Teresa Keith, Versailles; two sons, Ronnie Brophy and Teddy Brophy, both of Frankfort; one stepson, Timmy Brophy, Lawrenceburg; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Roberts, Frankfort, and Dorothy Gordon, Colorado; and a brother, Revel Brophy, Lebanon, Ohio. A son, Danny Ray Brophy; a sister, Catherine Taylor; and five brothers, Stewart, Henry, Dallas, Edward, and Forest Brophy, are deceased. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 3, at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles Road, Frankfort, by the Rev. Mike Napier. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Holcomb, 81, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Wilmore, widow of William Boyd Holcomb, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. A native of Woodford County, she was born March 14, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Gerald and Edith Buck Minton. She was a member of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church and a former employee of Fitch痴 IGA. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Ann Boss (Dwight), Michigan, and Carolyn Morris (Dale), Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren Greg Winburn (Shelly), Chad Winburn (Rebecca), Tammy Holmberg (Jeff), Melissa Wyglendwski (Jason), Jeffery Boss, Justin Morris (Kara), and Coby Morris; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister; two half-brothers; and two half-sisters, are deceased. Services were conducted Wednesday, June 3, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Kimbrell Betty Columbia Kimbrell, 79, of Versailles, widow of Edwin Kimbrell, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born in Midway, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Jessie Mae Hatfield Columbia. Survivors include a son, Ricky (Linda) Kimbrell, Lexington; a sister, Joyce Hayes, Lexington; and a brother, Quentin Columbia, Lexington. Four brothers, Charles Columbia, Milton Columbia, Paul Columbia, and Calvin Columbia, are deceased. Graveside services will be conducted at noon today, Thursday, June 4, in the Midway Cemetery. Moffett Richard Moffett, 52, of Lexington, husband of Marla Moffett, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Born Sept. 1, 1956, in Versailles, he was the son of Wilbur Moffett Jr. and the late Laura Richardson Moffett. He was an employee of S&S Tire. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kaylee Moffett, Lexington; a son, Tyler Moffett, Lexington; a sister, Susan Moffett Lane, Versailles; a brother, Jeff Moffett, Versailles; and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Friday, May 29, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. David Jones. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born in Woodford County, she was a former assistant manager at Long John Silvers restaurant and former employee of Frankfort Habilitation. Survivors include her mother, Shirley Hilton, Versailles; two sons, Greg O誰eal and Lesley O誰eal, both of Versailles; two sisters, Sandy Hawkins, Texas, and Vanessa Waddle, Frankfort; and a granddaughter. Services were conducted Monday, June 1, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by Pastor John Bradshaw. Interment was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Mike Snyder, Shawn Gill, Greg O誰eal, Lesley O誰eal, Kenneth Blevins, and Chad Soard. Honorary bearers were Bob Abshire, Ralph Tapp, and Noah Carpenter. Orr Laird Taylor Orr, 82, of London, husband of Ruby Eleanor Greene Orr, formerly of Indiana County, Pa., died Friday, May 29, 2009, at the University of Kentucky A.B. Chandler Medical Center Hospital in Lexington after a sudden illness. Born June 18, 1926, in Vandergrift, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry F. Orr and Mary Marshall Orr and stepson of Vernie Park Aul Orr, Indiana County, Pa. He was self-employed throughout his lifetime as a coal operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, president of Laird T. Orr Coal Co.; president of Salem Tool, Inc.; president of Green Hill Mining, Inc.; and president of Laurel Mining Co, Inc. He was a member First Presbyterian Church, London, where he served as deacon and elder. He was a former member of the board of directors of the Transylvania Presbytery, a former member of the board of directors of Burnamwood Presbyterian Church Camp, Irvine, a member of the Harmony Grove Lutheran Church, Willet, Pa., where he served as church council member; a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Venice, Fla. He was a former member of the board of directors of Union College, Barbourville, a former member of the board of directors of Sue Bennett College, London, a former member of the board of directors of Seton Home Health, London. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a sister, Betty L. Aul Wells, Five Points, Pa., two brothers, Eugene (Martha) Orr, Doylestown, Pa., and Robert (Nancy) Orr, Five Points, Pa.; 10 children, Debra (Glenn) O鱈eary, Lexington, Kay (Don) Blevins, Lexington, Pamela (Gordon) Weston, Milton, Barbara Orr, Versailles, Bonita Orr, London, Linda (Jimmy) Keller, London, Nancy (Robert) Stivers, Manchester, Patty Askeland, Monterey, Calif., Laird Taylor (Carolyn) Orr Jr., London, and Daniel Thomas (Anna) Orr, London; 30 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. An infant son, David Orr, is deceased. Services were conducted Monday, June 1, at the First Presbyterian Church, London. A memorial service will be held at the Harmony Grove Lutheran Church in Five Points, Pa., at a later date. House-Rawlings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
