Calvin Julie Cope Calvin, 42, of Hopkinsville, wife of Garry Calvin, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Alive Hospice of St. Thomas, Nashville, Tenn., following a long illness. Born Nov. 5, 1966, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Tom Cope, Versailles, and Ann Grover Cost, Hopkinsville. She was a registered nurse and worked in the cardiac rehabilitation unit at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. She was a member of the First Christian Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Jared Calvin, Hopkinsville; a daughter, Meghan Calvin, Hopkinsville; a brother, Shaw Cost, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Shelley Long, Crofton, and Sarah Cost, Hopkinsville; her stepfather, Dr. Guinn Cost; her paternal grandmother, Jeanette Cope, Battle Creek, Mich., and her maternal grandmother, Nancy Cost, Hopkinsville. Services were conducted Tuesday, May 5, at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, by the Rev. Dr. Ron Buck. Burial was in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Eddins Ronald James Eddins, of Cordova, Tenn., husband of Bridget Powell Eddins, formerly of Versailles, died Monday, May 4, 2009. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Eddins of Frankfort. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two brothers, Terry Eddins, Kodak, Tenn., and George Crume, Louisville; and three sisters, Karen Averill, Frankfort, Cindy Cook, Cocoa, Fla., and Sheri Stigers, Shelbyville. Services were conducted Thursday, May 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova, Tenn., by Monsignor Peter P. Buchignani, V.C. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8151 Chimneyrock Boulevard, Cordova, TN 38016-5157. Haynes Woolery Haynes, 79, of Midway, husband of Helen K. Haynes, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born July 26, 1929, in Letcher County, he was the son of the late William and Catherine Campbell Haynes. He was a longtime Midway Elementary School educator and basketball coach. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member and elder of the Midway Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by three daughters, Nancy H. (Ben) Taul, McQuady, Trish (Max) Appel, Versailles, and Lea Ann Haynes, Midway; a son, William J. Haynes, Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Carrie Wilson, Beaver Dam, Ruby Caudill, Carcassonne, and Gladys Back, Lexington; two brothers, Archie Haynes, Morristown, Tenn., and Isom Haynes, Louisville; eight grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Zach, Griffin and Kristin Appel, Beth and Melissa Taul, and Jessi Harper; and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Virgie Sexton, Marie Mallock, Betty Frazier; and a brother, Willie Haynes, are deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, May 12, at the Midway Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Mary Seeger Weese. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers were Josh Appel, Zack Appel, Griffin Appel, Gus Hayberg, Max Appel, and Ben Taul. Redmon, 89, of Nicholasville, widow of Orville Redmon, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Royal Manor Healthcare. Born June, 18, 1919, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Mary Hammond Bannister. She was a school bus driver for the Woodford County Schools and a member of Troy Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie R. Overbay and Rosemary R. Flannery, both of Nicholasville; three sisters, Ethel T. Corman, Versailles, Thelma Buffin, Lexington, and Georgie Beasley, Henderson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A son, Richard "Dickie" Redmon, is deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, May 12, at Clark Legacy Center, Nicholasville, by the Rev. Dave Duggan. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were James "Mingo" Overbay, Jeff Brumback, Richard "Bucky" Redmon, Todd Barnett, Blake Barnett, and Jacob Johnson. Resinger Paul Jeffrey Resinger, 59, of Versailles, died suddenly on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Lexington. Born Oct. 19, 1949, in Grand Forks, N.D., he was the son of Margaret (Peggy) Carlton, Portland, Ore., and the late Harold E. Resinger, M.D. He graduated from Woodford County High School in 1969 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for six years. He was a former employee of Texas Instruments. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, David (Senia) Resinger, Lexington, and Jack (Dawn) Resinger, Louisville; two sisters, Kelly (John Beirne) Resinger, Haddonfield, N.J., and Nancy (Dan VanWinkle) Resinger, Winchester; his stepmothers, Greta Resinger, Versailles, and Jackie Resinger, Lexington; and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, John Resinger and Jim Resinger, are deceased. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, May 14, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. A committal service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the Versailles Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Woodford Humane Society, P.O. Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383.
