Atha

Eugene Atha, 83, of Frankfort, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was retired from I.B.E.W. 183 as an electrician and was an Army National Guard Korean War veteran. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Church and Hiram Lodge #4 F. & A. M.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Heichelbech, Frankfort; two sons, Steve Atha and Michael Atha, both of Frankfort; a sister, Edna Quire, Somerset; a granddaughter, Stacy Riddle; two grandsons, Kenneth and Donald Atha; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Riddle, Riley Atha and Callie Atha.

A Masonic service was conducted Monday, Nov. 4, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, Frankfort. Honorary casket bearers were David Johnson, Danny McKinney, Terry Heichelbech, David Quire, Brian Quire and Mike Riddle.

Contributions are recommended to Shriners Hospital in memory of Hunter Riddle, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502.

Azbill

Louise Azbill, 81, of Versailles, wife of Raymond Azbill, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Bradford Square Nursing Home.

In addition to her husband of 34 years, she is survived by a son, Richard Shane Langdon, McKee; a stepdaughter, Teresa Azbill Barton, Frankfort; a stepson, Wayne (Darlyne) Azbill, Frankfort; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A son, Roy Lee Langdon, is deceased.

Services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 3, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Napier. Burial was Monday in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Buckner

William Bradley Buckner, 95, who retired as owner of Bradley’s Barber Shop after 58 years, widower of Lizzie Mae Campbell Buckner, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Leestown Road in Lexington.

Born July 8, 1918, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late George and Susie Collins Buckner. He was a longtime member of the Simpson United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonita Robinson, Versailles; two sons, Stewart (Vivian) Buckner, Lexington, and Floyd (LeMar) Buckner, Louisville; seven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. A daughter, Sherry Buckner Snell; a son-in-law, Chris Snell; two sisters, Lucille Buckner Tanner and Elizabeth Buckner Carter; and two brothers, Luke Buckner and Jewell Perry Buckner, are deceased.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Versailles United Methodist Church at 110 Court Street. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church by the Rev. Dr. Floyd Greene. Military honors and burial will follow at the Steele Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Allen Groves, Eric Robinson, Andre Brown, Landry Buckner, Tony Rollins, and Jeffery Howard.

Cook

Adam Leigh Cook, 40, husband of Anne Cook, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.

Born Oct. 13, 1973, in Jamestown, N.Y., he was the son of Jeff and Cheryl Cook of Midway. He was an architectural designer for Yum Brands and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Adin Garner Cook; a sister, Tamra Rice, Versailles; and a nephew, Trenton Cook.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 7, at Woodford Community Christian Church. Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, is in charge of arrangements.

Honican

Barry Rankin Honican, 62, wife of Richard Lee Honican Jr., died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the St. Joseph Hospital.

Born May 7, 1951 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Molly Shannon Rankin. She was a graduate of Woodford County High School and Kentucky Business College.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (John) Gentry, Versailles; a son, Richard (Jessica) Honican III, Versailles; a granddaughter, Harper Gentry; a brother, Thomas A. (Cindy) Rankin Jr., Versailles; a sister-in-law, Sissy Rankin, Versailles; two nephews, T.A. (Sarah) Rankin and Richie Hubbard; a niece, Lindsey Rankin; a great-nephew, Brody Rankin; and a great-niece, Lexy Jackson.

Services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by the Rev. Ernie Sacra. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.

Nardoni

Harry Nardoni Jr., 75, widower of Marybeth Kennedy Nardoni, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at The Cottage assisted living facility in Frankfort.

Born in Ferguson, Mo., he was the son of the late Harry Sr. and Josephine Perricone Nardoni. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired food service sales manager.

Survivors include two daughters, Heather (Greg) Hall, Versailles, and Nicole (Brad) Hercules, St. Peters, Mo.; five grandchildren, Addie and Owen Hall, Versailles, and Riley, Emilee, and Marybeth Hercules, St. Peters, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Missouri. Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Raglin

Danny K. Raglin 50, son of the late Rev. Thomas E Raglin Sr. and Jessie Mason Raglin, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013.

Services were conducted Friday, Nov. 1, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Lexington. Fender Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.

 

White

Lisa Houglin White, 50, of Versailles, wife of Johnny White, passed peacefully at her home on November 4, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

Lisa leaves behind her two sons, Randy and Matt, and one stepdaughter, Kasi (A.J.) Kelty; a granddaughter, Addy Kelty; and a grandson, Landon Kelty. Lisa is the daughter of James Houglin and the late Myra Houglin. In addition, Lisa is survived by her lifelong best friend, Rene Elder; a brother, James Michael (Vanessa) Houglin; an uncle, Mike Wheeler; and aunts Pam (Chris) Hungate and Dixie Houglin. Also surviving are her very dear, compassionate and eternal loving friends Jerry and Charlotte Lundergan and their five beautiful daughters, Abby Dobson, Alissa Tibe, Amy Coates, Alison Lundergan-Grimes and Ashley Lundergan, and their extended families whom Lisa truly loved and adored. Other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Lisa will be forever and lovingly remembered for the selfless acts of humanity, kindness and generosity that she bestowed upon all of us.

Visitation was Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Versailles Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Ronnie White, Brandon White, A.J. Kelty, Mike Wheeler, David Hungate and Nathan Ramsey.

Following burial services, the Lundergan family will host a gathering of family and friends at the Carrick House 312 N. Limestone Street, Lexington, KY 40508.

Wilson

Judy Katherine Beasley Wilson, 62, of Versailles, wife of William "Billy" Wilson, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013.

A native of Versailles, she was born on Dec. 5, 1950, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Adams Beasley. She was of the Baptist faith and a quality inspector for OSRAM Sylvania.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy Coomer and Deanna Morton, both of Versailles; a son, Tony Stewart, Pennsylvania; a brother, Donnie Beasley, Lawrenceburg; two stepdaughters, Melissa Marie Wilson and Leslie Michelle Burkhead; eight grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. A son, Brian "Scotty" Stewart, and two brothers, Charlie Beasley Jr. and Bobby Beasley, are deceased.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home by the Rev. Mike Justice and the Rev. Tim Jackson. Burial will follow at the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Billy Wilson, Tony Stewart, Greg Stewart, Louise Autrey, Josh Coomer, Nick Coomer, Jordan Stewart, and Jacob Stewart.
