Inez Allen Barnett, 97, of Versailles, widow of John J. Alexander, Stanley Hughes, and Joe Barnett, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Joe A. and Carrie Dove Nave Allen. She was a retired Woodford Memorial Hospital clerk and a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member at her death, and was a graduate of the Versailles High School.
Survivors include three sons, John Alexander Jr., Versailles, Harold T. Alexander, Fredericksburg, Ohio, and Ken Alexander, Versailles; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A son, Donald Joe Alexander, four sisters, Burgess Allen, Rhoda Hartley, Blanche Duncan, and Frances Range; and four brothers, A. T. Allen, Dawson Allen, Paul Allen, and Joe Knox Allen, are deceased.
Services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 11, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Hinkle. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Kelly Alexander, Wayne Alexander, Bill Alexander, Jim Serafini, Joe Serafini, and Chris Serfini. Honorary bearers were Scott and Betty Allen.
Memorials are suggested to Clear Creek Baptist Church.

Wanita Grider Overfield, 85, of Frankfort, wife of Edward Overfield, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008.
Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Knacy Ruel and Ruth Wesley Grider. She was an office manager for Western Union until her retirement after 44 years with the company and a member of Versailles United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a daughter, Edwinna (Michael L.) Harrod, Frankfort; a grandson, Cory Harrod; a great-grandson, Austin Harrod; a sister, Bulah Haines Robins, Tennessee; and a brother, Ruel Eli Grider, Florida. A sister, Sylvia June Cravens, and two brothers, Knacy George Grider and Nelson Lee Grider, are deceased.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today Thursday, Oct. 16, at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles Road, Frankfort, by the Rev. Art Robins. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service today. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimerís Association.

Otis Walker, 76, of Georgetown, formerly of Midway, widower of Bobbie Jean Sorrell Walker, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Feb. 17, 1932, in Perry County, he was the son of the late Cowan Walker and Carrie Combs Walker. He retired from D. Lehmanís and Son after 30 years of employment.
Survivors include seven children, June A. Mason, Sidney L. Walker, Otis J. Walker, Jerry Walker, Chris Walker, Joseph W. Walker, and Glenn Walker (Judy); 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other family members. Five brothers, Ed, Bill, Jim, Lawrence, and Joe Walker; and a sister, Pauline Walker, are deceased.
Services will be planned at a later date. Care Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
