A final development plan for a field house on the Midway University campus was reviewed by the Technical Review Committee (TRC) at its Nov. 25 meeting and sent to the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission.

At its November meeting, the Board of Adjustments (BOA) approved an amended conditional use permit allowing Midway University to construct a second field house on its campus.

The athletic facility will include locker rooms for the university’s football and soccer teams, as well as office space, BOA members were told. The facility will be located adjacent to the football field.

Clifton Road plat

A final record plat for a 6.004-acre tract at 10351 Clifton Rd. and a 6-acre tract at 10393 Clifton Rd. (Jo Carol Carter) was forwarded to the Planning Commission. The Woodford Fiscal Court approved the property being rezoned from A-1 agricultural to A-4 small community.

Quorum question

Before TRC took action on the Clifton Road plat, Woodford County Fire Chief Melvin Montgomery asked if having three TRC members participating in the meeting was sufficient to review and forward the plat onto the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission.

Planning Director Steve Hunter said TRC’s bylaws do not have a formal process on how a quorum is established.

To address Montgomery’s concern, Hunter said the Planning Commission can give preliminary and final approvals at its Dec. 11 meeting.
