Imogene “Jean” Carter, 83, of Lexington, widow of Charles Rankin Carter, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. Born Aug. 19, 1932, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Janie Ann Wainscott Tilghman. She was a member of Southern Acres Christian Church, retired from IBM, and was the auditor at the former Phoenix Hotel. Survivors include three daughters, Connie Carter, Patty Webb and Charlene Hunter; five grandchildren, Heath Baldwin, Heather Cherry, Kitty Webb, Michele Chamberland and Charlie Hunter; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Kerr Brothers - Main Street, Lexington. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial P
