Cunningham

Lisa Carol Cannon Cunningham, 53, of Knoxville, Tenn., beloved wife of Mark, loving mother of Samantha, and daughter of Don and Virginia Cannon, was healed of her imperfect heart as she passed from this life into eternal life on Jan. 7, 2016, at 4:08 p.m. Lisa was raised in Powell, TN, and lived in Versailles, KY, for the past 26 years. She was a member of Versailles Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and participated in Women on Mission. Her life was continually filled with miracles. Lisa was born with a congenital heart defect and had a successful heart valve replacement at Johns Hopkins hospital at age five. Lisa lived a life of faith and service, trusting the Lord through three additional open heart surgeries as well as many other medical procedures. She was a patient at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio awaiting a heart transplant at the time of her death. Lisa’s love for the Lord was evident through the love she shared with others. Her life was a life of service. She was kind and hospitable, sending cards and preparing meals for others even when her physical condition was significantly diminished. Lisa was preceded in death by grandparents, Perry and Kerlander Jennings, Lawrence C. Cannon and wife, Carrie; grandmother Loetta Taylor Cannon; and mother-in-law, Bettye Hughes Cunningham. In addition to those already listed, Lisa is survived by brother Don Cannon Jr. (Judy); sisters, Gina Jones and Terri Rose (Steve); father-in-law Bud Cunningham and wife, Carolyn; brothers-in-law Preston Cunningham (Shawna), David Pless (Shannon); sisters-in-law Mary Beth Cunin (Bill) and Shelley Helton. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends that she loved dearly. Services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Versailles Baptist Church, Versailles, with Dr. Michael Cabell and the Rev. John Brandon officiating. Burial was at Woodhaven Cemetery in Claxton, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of the following, in memory of Lisa Cunningham or Barney Rhyne, a family friend who passed the same day: Donate Life Tennessee, 1600 Hayes Street, Nashville, TN 37203; Trust for Life, 982 Eastern Parkway, P.O.
