Community health consortium planned

The Woodford County Chamber of Commerce, along with Laurie Dorough, the new executive director of Daisy Hill Senior Living, would like to help coordinate a group of health care professionals and individuals interested in forming the Woodford Community Health Consortium.

The Woodford Community Health Consortium is a catalyst for improving health and overall quality of life within Woodford County while providing a forum and opportunity for health professionals to network, share ideas and common goals for our community.

Working together, the coalition members would actively pursue six goals. These include raising awareness about matters relevant to the health of the community of Woodford County, developing projects that address unmet needs or gaps in health services, fostering collaboration, efficiently coordinating services and maximizing resources, developing plans and reports, encouraging advocacy.

Once established the consortium will decide its direction for the future.

The first meeting will be held at Daisy Hill Senior Living Facility, 1001 Crossfield Drive, on Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. Those interested in joining the consortium may contact Don Vizi at 873-5122 or woodforddirector@gmail.com.
