Mary Katherine Meeks Nunnelley, 89, of Midway, widow of Earl Lee Nunnelley, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospice in Lexington. Born Dec. 17, 1926, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Meeks and Abby Corbin Meeks. She was a self-employed beautician for nearly 65 years. She enjoyed all types of sports but was especially fond of the Cincinnati Reds. She enjoyed traveling and at one time or another had visited four continents, but her most favorite place to visit was the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. During World War II she worked in a defense plant in Cincinnati, Ohio. Survivors include a son, Denny (Lou) Nunnelley, Versailles; and two granddaughters, Kay Nunnelley and Beth Nunnelley. Two brothers, Clarence Meeks and Claude Meeks, are deceased. Graveside services were conducted Friday, Feb. 5, in the Corinth Cemetery.
