Richard "Perk" Perkins, 73, of Versailles, husband of Phyllis Ann Perkins, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016. Born March 8, 1942, in Versailles, he was the son of the late John Calvin and Mary Lucille Parr Perkins. He was retired from IBM and a truck driver for Hammonds Transport. He also worked for Bluegrass Tours Bus Line and drove a school bus for Woodford County. He was a member of Versailles Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Ken) Joyce, Versailles; two sons, Brent Tod Perkins, Lexington, and Dustin Richard-Tod Perkins, Versailles; two grandchildren, Colin Martin and Lucy Kathleen Slugantz; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Abagail Slugantz. Services were conducted Monday, Feb. 29, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. Randy Nation. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Dustin Perkins, Preston Britton, Billy O'Nan, Austin Burruss, Travis McGruder and Ken Joyce. Honorary bearers were Herbert Reed, Mike Burruss, Donald Rice, and Brent Tod Perkins.
