Lady Jackets ready to play ball

If the the Woodford County High School softball team’s preseason 17-0 win over Assumption at home on Saturday, March 12, is any indication of how good this year’s Lady Jacket team is going to be, then WCHS fans are in for a fun season. In the game, the pitching tandem of Bethany Todd and Caitlin Karo threw a (combined) no-hitter. Also, the Lady Jackets had four home runs on the day. In the varsity game, Karo hit two out of the park, while junior Ariel Dailey had one. Then in the junior varsity game, eighth-grader Abby Moffett hit one over the fence as well. Said Woodford head coach Sasha Turansky in a tweet after Saturday’s game: “Good day today- 4 dingers & B/CK combine for a no hitter. Enjoy your day off tmrw. Regular season starts next Saturday @ PRP!” Batter up! Let the games begin.
