Evelyn Thomas Hildreth, 91, of Lexington, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Baptist Healthcare in Lexington. Born Dec. 8, 1924, in Hitchins, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Omar H. and Ethel Duvall Thomas. Formerly of Mayslick and Ashland, she was a former employee of Ashland Office Supply. A resident of the Lafayette Place in Lexington, she was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church, was an avid bridge player and member of several bridge clubs, and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a history buff and former docent at the John Hunt Morgan House and at the Mary Todd Lincoln House. Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Steve) Callaway, Versailles, and Susan (Cecil) Thorpe, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Tom Hildreth, Versailles; a granddaughter, Mary Ruth Callaway, Versailles; a grandson, William Hildreth, Michigan; two sisters, Betty Bryan, Lexington, and Kay Burriss, Ashland; and three great-grandchildren. A grandson, Damon Hildreth, and three sisters, Donna Sykes, Loretta Prichard, and Marilyn Warren, are deceased. Graveside services were conducted Monday, March 28, at the Hillcrest Burial Park in Grayson. Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Versailles United Methodist Church Building Fund, 135 Court St., Versailles, KY 40383, or to Radio Eye, 1733 Russell Cave Road, Lexington, KY 40505.
