Phyllis A., Thomas, 78, of Versailles, wife of 60 years to William H. "Bill" Thomas, as of August 2016, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born Oct, 17, 1937, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Horace Anderson and Thelma Donaldson Parker. Phyllis was a 1956 graduate of Henry Clay High School, was employed nearly 20 years as a china department sales associate with McAlpin's, and was a long time member of Broadway Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, and gardening. Phyllis was a devout Christian and animal lover. Survivors other than her husband include two children, Lynne (Chris) Moore, Lexington, and Scott (Kim) Thomas, Birmingham, Ala.; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Jacob and Nate Thomas, also of Birmingham, Ala.; and a loyal friend, Sallie Boling, Versailles. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by Dr. Mike Faust. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be take place from 10 a.m. Friday until the service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Woodford Humane Society, P.O. Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383.
