Margaret "Gran" Chilton, 94, of Versailles, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Born Oct. 18, 1921, in Vevay, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Harry Ashcraft and Ruth Scudder Ashcraft. She was a customer service representative for Levi Strauss and was a member of Versailles Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Ashley, Versailles; a son, Steve (Jean) Chilton, Florence; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Ashley Jr., Jason (Yong Suk) Ashley, Mary-Margaret Ashley (Jeff) Forte, Allison (John) Cyphers, Robert (Sandra) Chilton and Marc (Liza) Chilton; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Charlotte and Geneva, and a brother, Donald, are deceased. Services were conducted Saturday, April 30, at Clark Funeral Home by Jason Ashley. Burial was in Rose Crest Cemetery. Casket bearers were her great-grandsons. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
