Davis


Clifton "Jake" Davis Jr., of Midway, husband of Christine Fields Davis, died Thursday April 28, 2016. Born June 7, 1935, in Midway, he was the son of the late Clifton Sr. and Mildred Kennedy Davis. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Midway. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wendell Mulder, Frankfort, and Robert (Cameille) Fields; four sisters, Vivian Taylor, Victoria Davis, and Lucinda Davis, all of Lexington, and Wah Wah (the Rev. Calvin) Rideau, Virginia; a brother, Manuel Davis, Lexington; a special niece, Jackie Greene; a sister-in-law, Linda Davis; a brother-in-law, James Russell; and several grandchildren. A sister, Elnora Russell, and three brothers, Roy Davis, Wade Davis, and Lamar Davis, are deceased. Services were conducted Wednesday, May 4, at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Midway by Elder Chris Wright. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers were Manuel Davis Jr., Van Davis, Moose Washington, Ralph Taylor, Calvin Rideau and Darryl Christy. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Pilgrim Baptist Church.
