Message from the Mayor

Congratulations to Midway University’s golf team, who won the 2016 KIAC conference tournament. In just their third year in existence, they now move on to compete in the NAIA National Championship May 17 to 20 in Pooler, Ga., near Savannah. You’ve got to be proud of these outstanding student athletes, who buckled down on the final day of the tournament to complete a comeback victory.

Just as April showers bring May flowers (or more showers), spring cleaning often brings yard sales, and this weekend will bring the annual Northridge Estates neighborhood yard sale. The bargains will begin on Friday and last until Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate, a rain-out date is scheduled for the following weekend. Our next city council meeting will be this Monday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. As always, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
