Police Reports Versailles police responded to two injury accidents, 11 non-injury wrecks and made two arrests. On May 14 at 3:40 p.m., a GMC Sierra pickup with an attached horse trailer driven by Jennifer C. Athon, 42, of Bethel, Ohio, was outbound on Lexington Road while a Harley FLS motorcycle driven by William K. Shehan, 55, of Lexington, was also outbound in the left lane. Police say Athon tried to make a U-turn in front of Jack Kain Ford. Shehan braked and steered toward the median, but was unable to avoid striking the trailer. Athon told police she stopped in the left lane and, while making the U-turn, traveled into the right lane. Three witnesses told police she was in the right lane when she began the U-turn. Shehan was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say Athon's inattention was a factor in the wreck. On May 16 at 12:57 a.m., a Kia Spectra driven by Amanda Isaacs, 24, of Lexington, was traveling in the right lane of the Blue Grass Parkway when she suffered an apparent seizure and lost consciousness. The Spectra left the right land and struck a guardrail. A witness told police the vehicle spun 720 degrees before coming to rest on the right shoulder of the road. A passenger in Isaacs's car, Kendra C. Talley, 17, of Willisburg, was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. On May 17, electricians' tools worth a total of $7,935.91 were reported stolen from an industrial site on the U.S. 60 Bypass. On May 18, two drain cleaning machines worth a total of $1,000 were reported stolen from Quad/Graphics. On May 20, harassing communications were reported on Quail Run Road. On May 21, police made an arrest for DUI on the Blue Grass Parkway. On May 21, police made an arrest for DUI on Paddock Drive. On May 21, $220 in cash was reported stolen from a store on South Main Street. On May 21, the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported on Dunroven Road. On May 21, a drive-through window of a Frankfort Street liquor store was reported vandalized, with damage estimated at $100, and an unknown number of items were stolen. On May 18, a heating and air conditioner system worth $3,000 outside a Preston Court house was reported stolen and an estimated $500 in damage done to electrical wires and tubing. On May 18, a trimmer and blower worth a total of $400 were reported stolen from the Midway Small Animal Clinic. On May 16, police reported a case of receiving stolen property at an I-64 rest area involving 13 anti-theft control devices. Firefighters responded to a vehicle accident on North Main Street at Green Street May 19. An alarm was accidentally activated at the OSRAM Sylvania Lamp Plant May 20. Firefighters investigated a report of a leaking propane cylinder at Thornton's on Lexington Road May 21. County Firefighters responded to vehicle accidents on Pinckard Pike May 17, on I-64 May 20, on Midway Road May 21, and on the Blue Grass Parkway May 23. An alarm malfunctioned on Fords Mill Road May 17. Firefighters assisted Woodford County EMS on Oregon Road May 20. Fire in the attic of a Paddock Drive residence was extinguished May 22. A smoke detector malfunctioned at a Powhatan Trail residence May 23. Animal Control Woodford County Animal Control (879-0598) is holding a stray neutered male black short-haired cat with a white spot on his chest and two black tortoiseshell short-haired female kittens.
