Police Reports Versailles police responded to five injury accidents, 12 non-injury wrecks, three domestic-related complaints, made five arrests and issued two citations. On June 4 at 11 a.m., a Toyota Highlander driven by Donald R. Gillum, 59, of Lexington, was traveling on the U.S. 60 Bypass when Gillum began to choke on a Danish. He lost control, and his vehicle left the right side of the road and struck chain link and wooden plank fences. Gillum was taken to the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Lexington. On June 4 at 4:47 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Jordan Moreno, 20, of Lexington, was traveling on Old Frankfort Pike when Moreno lost control around a left curve and his vehicle struck the end of a bridge. Moreno was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say inattention and not being under proper control were factors in the crash. On June 6 at 5:40 p.m., a Mazda 6 driven by Judith Saxton, 52, of Winston-Salem, N.C., was traveling on Lexington Road as the traffic light at Paddock Drive began to change. The Mazda was nearly stopped at the light when it was rear-ended by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Sandra Warner, 38, of Lawrenceburg. Saxton drove herself to Bluegrass Community Hospital. On June 6 at 10:30 p.m., a Jeep Liberty driven by Bernardo Flores, 23, of Lexington, was traveling on Big Sink Pike when he failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle left the left side of the road and struck a wooden plank fence, a piece of which struck Flores in the head. Police say Flores took a 12-pack of Modelo from the vehicle, hid behind a tree and drank a beer. He was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say alcohol involvement, inattention and not being under proper control were factors in the crash. On June 7 at 9:02 p.m., a Chevy Silverado driven by Shane M. Bays, 41, of 245 W. Higgins Street, was traveling on West Higgins Street. Bays didn't stop at a stop sign and his vehicle was struck by a Toyota Corolla driven by Casey Holbrook, 17, of 2400 Spring Station Road in Midway. Bays was taken to UK Chandler Hospital and charged with DUI. On June 11, police made an arrest on Paige Court for violating a Kentucky EPO. On June 13, a backpack worth $150 was reported stolen from a community center on Beasley Road. On June 13, a Pontiac G6 was reported vandalized on Clifton Road, with damage estimated at $200.
