John B. Saylor, 80, of Versailles, husband of Charlotte Hancorn Saylor, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Byrdine and Nellie Murphy Saylor. A retired Rand McNally pressman, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of American Legion Post 67. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Saylor (Carrie), Lebanon Junction, and Tom Costello, Florida; four daughters, Fran Cline Costello and Peggy Parrella, both of Florida, Angela Lesslie, Missouri, and Michelle Hartley, Lawrenceburg; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday, June 10, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by Steve Ward. Burial with military honors was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were John Saylor, Justin Buckley, Michael Hartley, Kenny Hatchell, Brandon Saylor, and James Morrison.
