Irvin Ferrell Powell, 79, of Versailles, husband of Susan Elaine Powell, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Born in Lexington, he was the son of the late Irvin and Lottie May Bradley Powell. He was retired from the United States Postal Service, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by a daughter, Andrea (David) Price, Liberty; a son, Keith (Melissa) Powell, Versailles; a grandson, Jacob Scott Coleman; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Kevin Scott Powell, and several sisters and brothers are deceased. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, June 30, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, by Chaplain Jesse Baldridge. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Diabetes Association.
