Oliver


Boyd Oliver, 80, formerly of Versailles, widower of Judith Giles Oliver, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Kenwood Healthcare in Richmond. Born in Hazard, he was the son of the late Curtis and Melissa Oliver. He was retired from Kuhlman Electric, was a member of the Oleika Shriners, and was Santa Claus in the Versailles Christmas parade for 21 years. Survivors include by four grandchildren, Jeffery Robinson (Harmony), Frankfort, Ashley Sheeks (Kyle), Irvine, Shelby Ann Morgan Oliver, and Kyrie Regan Layne Oliver, both of Richmond; a great-grandchild, Naomi LaVelle; a daughter-in-law, Susan Wilhoit-Oliver, Richmond; a former daughter-in-law, Nancy Robinson, Versailles; two brothers, Lloyd Oliver (Pat) and Scott Oliver; and two sisters, Lois Thacker and Joyce Fuller (Herman.) A son, Jeffery Boyd Oliver, is deceased.

Visitation will be from 110 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Carl Jones. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery.
