Kelly Jo Curran Courtney, 48, of Versailles, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at her home. Born in Hammond, Ind., she was the daughter of Doris Curran Scheef of Versailles and the late Ewell Curran. A dietary aide at Taylor Manor Nursing Home and an LPN, she was a 1986 graduate of Woodford County High School and had attended Western Kentucky University. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Evan (Samantha) Curran and Matthew Courtney, both of Versailles; her stepfather, Gail Scheef; four sisters, Andrea Blakman, Arizona, and Mary Beth Hoyland, Marcia (Kenny) Burns, and Vicki (Scott) Duncan, all of Decatur, Ill.; a brother, William E. Sulicz, Decatur, Ill.; a half-brother, Rod Curran of Crawfordsville, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul M. Sulicz, and a half-brother, Joe Curran, are deceased. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Leo Catholic Church by Fr. Danny Schwendeman. Interment will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Taylor Manor Nursing Home, 300 Berry Avenue, Versailles, KY 40383.
