Charles Edgar Delk, 88, of Versailles, formerly of Hamilton, Ohio, husband of Nettie Pearl Delk, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Thomson Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore. Born June 1, 1928, in Ludlow, he was the son of the late William Delk and Edith Trimble Delk. He was a retired supervisor for Champion/International Paper and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Shanes, Versailles; a son, Steve (Deb) Delk, Denver, Colo., five grandchildren, Jeremy Delk, Matt Delk, Bryan Delk, Emily Shanes, and Catherine Shanes, a brother, Arnold Delk (Judy), Willamstown; and a sister, Shirley Clayton (Bill), Hebron. A brother, William Delk (Maxine), is deceased. Private services are being planned.
