Liquor store robbed

Versailles police say Tate Liquor at 104 Rose Hill Avenue was robbed at closing time around 10 p.m. Monday. Lt. Michael Fortney said a male wearing sunglasses and dressed in dark clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt, showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash without harming the clerk. Fortney said detectives are following up on leads and conducting interviews.
