School tax hearing set for today

The Woodford County Board of Education will have a public hearing on a proposed general tax levy of 66.4 cents per $100 of assessed value on real and personal property this afternoon, Sept. 1. The hearing begins at 4:50 p.m. in the second-floor board room of the Central Office building at 330 Pisgah Pike. The tax levied last fiscal year (66.4 cents on real and personal property) produced revenue of $14.705 million. The proposed tax rates of 66.4 cents on real and personal property are expected to generate $15.119 million for 2016-17.
