Middle, elem. XC teams score at Woodford All-Comers meet
The Woodford County middle school and elementary school cross country teams scored well at the Woodford All-Comers Meet at Falling Springs on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Here’s a recap of the races. Girls’ Middle School The Woodford girls’ middle school won its division over four teams. Finishing second was Beaumont Middle School, with Hayes Middle School third. Individually, Katie Gatewood had Woodford’s top performance. She finished third with a time of 18:44.80 in the 4K run. Also finishing in the top 10 were Abigail Wooten (finished 6th with at time of 19:22.06); Abbey Bleuel (7th, 19:25.15); and Morgan Reynolds (8th, 19:38.30). Other Woodford runners were Taylor Dotson (12th, 20:12.66); Lillian Mullins (17th, 21:08.18); Emma Goh (21st, 21:35.90); Hannah Warthman (29th, 22:38.85); Miriam Hickey (44th, 24:12.62), Madison Rhyker (58th, 27:15.12); Ann-Sophie Martin (61st, 28:16.24); and Addriana Santos (62nd, 28:20.68). Boys’ middle School The Woodford boys’ middle school finished second in its division out of seven teams. Beaumont Middle School won, with Tates Creek Middle School third. Individually, Korry Blankenship won the 4K race with a time of 15:37.17. Also in the top 10 was Hunter Penn, who finished eighth with a time of 16:33.19. Other Woodford runners were Thomas Martin (11th, 16:45.68); Trevor Greene (13th, 16:51.17); Kodi Reeder (19th, 17:12.97); Jackson Moffett (22nd, 17:35.67); Ryan Hash (31st, 18:36.13); Scott Watson (38th, 19:14.56); Colin McGowan (50th, 19:48.46); Randyn Knight (58th, 20:20.24); Shaun Lavin (59th, 20:21.88); Logan Greene (87th, 22:03.49); Jonathan Linton (97th, 24:30.15); and Cody Boesch (103rd, 29:19.79). Girls’ elementary The Woodford girls’ elementary school team finished second out of nine teams. Winning the division was The Lexington School, with Hayes Middle School third. Individually, Maggie Twehues had the team’s top performance. She finished second with a time of 14:12.97 in the 3K run. Also in the top 10 was Evelyn Hamilton. She finished sixth with a time of 14:46.20. Other Woodford runners were Gabby Gampper (11th, 15:30.64); Addie Patterson (14th, 15:37.18); Addison Moore (16th, 15:45.22); Kendyhl Dewar (26th, 17:19.03); Lainey Banks (27th, 17:20.84); Eva Kate Probus (28th, 17:40.06); Willa Cardwell (32nd, 18:26.68); Ashlynn Gampper (41st, 19:31.52); Katherine Spellman (45th, 20:05.97); Nora Hanley (63rd, 23:49.25); and Molly Jo Elmore (70th, 27:10.71). Boys’ Elementary The Woodford boys’ elementary school won their division over seven other teams. Finishing second was Lexington Latin School and Veterans Park Elementary was third. Individually, Woodford had two runners finish in the top 10. Ryan Hendrix finished sixth in the 3K run with a time of 13:14.92, and Jack Lehmkuhler finished seventh with a time of 13:16.40. Other Woodford runners were Parker Polk (12th, 13:35.73); Jacob Reeder (14th, 13:38.23); Xavier Moore (16th, 13:43.86); Sean Wiley (20th, 13:48.30); Delano Mullins (23rd, 14:10.71); Clay Holt (25th, 14:26.32); Simon Swansegar (33rd, 15:08.57); JB Martin (36th, 15:17.19); Caleb Sutherland (53rd, 17:01.71); Andrew Scott (63rd, 17:44.36); and Luc VandenBrock (89th, 21:03.99).
