New chamber committee formed

The Woodford County Chamber of Commerce has established a new committee called the "Community Committee." The purpose of this committee is to get more members of the community, chamber members and non-chamber members, involved in what is happening in Woodford County. "We believe that there are a lot of individuals in the community who want to be involved, but they don't know how to accomplish this task," said chamber Executive Director Don Vizi. "We will plan for a kickoff to start this committee in October. You do not have to be a member of the chamber to be part of this committee." The Community Committee will be responsible for planning and implementing community-related projects. This committee looks for projects that will dramatically impact and improve Woodford County. Once projects are presented to the committee, members vote on which projects they want to implement. Tasks of committee members include working with local governments, and businesses, finding sponsors, recruiting volunteers, marketing, and them implementing the project. The executive director will be the chairman of this committee. Those who are interested in being a part of this committee may send their name and contact information to Jennifer at the chamber by emailing woodfordstaff@gmail.com.
