Kerkhoff seeks reelection

Ken Kerkhoff has announced his candidacy for reelection to the Versailles City Council. In a statement, he said: "As a three-term councilman, I have been deeply involved in long term funding for Parks & Recreation and the Fallings Springs complex. I voted for the demolition of the old Versailles Center (new hotel), to develop a strategic plan for the future of Versailles and for meaningful downtown beautification (flowers, sidewalks, parking, new pavilion), as well as to study the potential merits of merged governments (synergy/savings). As Finance Committee chair, I am proud of decisions made to significantly improve the city's balance sheet. "As your city councilman my priorities will be: ". Economic development (jobs), tourism, downtown beautification. ". Strong fiscally responsible budget management. ". Improved infrastructure; i.e., significant water/sewer plant upgrades. ". Private/public partnerships for local projects/improvements. "I have 34 years of business experience from IBM/Lexmark and six years of active commitment and results for Versailles. "My wife, Nancy, a retired Woodford County teacher, and I raised our three sons in Versailles. "I would appreciate your vote and look forward to discussing your concerns and your dreams for the future of Versailles. Please call me at (859)433-5966."
