Brandenburg


Dorothy Leedy Brandenburg, 88, of Versailles, widow of Clay C. Brandenburg, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at her home. Born Sept. 29, 1928, in Woodford County she was the daughter of the late John Leedy and Katherine Guyn Leedy. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a longtime educator in the Versailles and Woodford County School System. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Versailles. Survivors include two children, Cathy Noel, Versailles, and Bob (Jill) Brandenburg, Palm Beach Gardens Fla., four grandchildren, Trae Noel, Allison (Don) Lewis, Billy Higgins, and Lori Beckmann; and seven great-grandchildren, Abigail Noel, Kaden Floyd, Jackson Lewis, Sadie Lewis, Reagan Lewis, Patrick Abruzzo, and Brandon Keene. A grandson, Christian "Robbie" Higgins, is deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the First Christian Church of Versailles by the Rev. James Manion. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Biff Baker, Rick Nutter, Jon Morgan, Norman Morton, Brad Mullins and John Thompson. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, was in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, 160 Lexington Street, Versailles, KY 40383.
