Versailles council candidates' forum set for Oct. 17

The Woodford County Chamber of Commerce, with the support from the Woodford County High School Community Activism Class (SPARK), will be hosting a candidates' forum on Monday, Oct. 17, at Woodford Theatre for individuals running for Versailles City Council. There are nine individuals running for six positions. The individuals running for city council are Ann Miller, Laura Dake, Larry Britton, Mary Ellen Bradley, Mike Coleman, Mark Cox, Owen Roberts Tim Middleton, and Kenneth Kerkhoff. Ann Miller, Laura Dake, Mark Cox, Mike Coleman, Tim Middleton, and Kenneth Kerkhoff have agreed to participate. Owen Roberts has declined, Larry Britton, Mary Ellen Bradley, has not responded to a request to participate. The official program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Woodford Theatre. All candidates are welcome to arrive and set up information tables in the lobby area of the building at 6 p.m. to greet guests arriving and talk with them individually. Candidates are welcome to stay after the event in the lobby area to speak with guests. The agenda for the forum will be: Each candidate will get three minutes to introduce themselves and then all candidates will be asked questions that are submitted by community members. Each member will have two minutes to answer the question. This is not a debate but an informational forum for the community.
