Jane Dean, 80, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at the Hospice Care Center. Born in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late John M. "Jay" and Nettie Woolums Tate. She was a member of the Glen's Creek Baptist Church and retired from the University of Kentucky, where she worked in the Margaret I. King Library. Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Dean Ratcliff, Versailles; a grandson, Michael Taylor Ratcliff, Daphne, Ala.; a niece, Kennetha Gayhart (Rick), Lexington; and a nephew, Mike Faust (Rickie), Indiana. A sister, Anne Tate Bowmar, and a brother, Harold Tate, are deceased. Services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 16, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Dave Menser. Graveside services were conducted Monday, Oct. 17, at the Versailles Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
