Roberta P. Hume, 89, widow of Hurley C. Hume, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Earl and Mary Jane Prewitt. She was a retired shipping clerk for American Greetings Corp. and a member of the Versailles Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Lynn (Mary) Hume, Lexington, and James Cordell (Mary Alison) Hume, Versailles; a brother, John Wallace Prewitt, Burnside; five grandchildren, Angela Henderson, Amanda Handley, Justin Burger, Lisa Leigh, and David Feeback; and nine great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. John Brandon. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ryan Leigh, Greg Leigh, Martin Henderson, Curtis Handley, and Justin Burger. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Versailles Baptist Church.
