McDaniel

Sterling McDaniel, 84, of Lawrenceburg, husband of Linda F. Casey, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at his home. Born March 25, 1932, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Neeley and Helen Blankenship McDaniel. He worked as a truck driver for Lawrenceburg Transfer for 42 years. He enjoyed cooking and raising a garden. In addition to his wife of 25 years, he is survived by a son, Larry McDaniel, Lexington; two daughters, Patricia Smith, Frankfort, and Cheryl McDaniel, Lexington; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Christine Baker, Versailles; and two brothers, Leonard (Velda) McDaniel, Georgetown, and Bill (Marilyn) McDaniel, Lawrenceburg. His first wife, Frances Eaves McDaniel, a grandson, David Soard, a daughter-in-law, Penny Snapp McDaniel, a brother, Gene McDaniel, and three sisters, Opal Hockensmith, Katheryn Hockensmith and Dorothy Slucher, are deceased. Services were conducted Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home by Pastor Tony Andrade. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Danny Baker, Shannon McDaniel, Eugene McDaniel, Billy McDaniel, Mark Casey and Donald Cole. bearers were Leonard McDaniel, Aiden McDaniel, Wesley McDaniel, Bill McDaniel and Kenny Smith.
