Katherine O. Tegzes, 95, of Midway, widow of George Tegzes Jr. MD, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016. Born May 3, 1921, in Leechburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Germain and Catherine Fitzgerald Paulin. She was a stenographer for Calgon, Inc., then a mother of eight children, and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Survivors include five daughters, Katherine Hughes, Pennsylvania, Barbara (Allan) Urbanic, California, Anne Peters, Midway, Elizabeth (Donald) Hummel, Pennsylvania, and Angela Tegzes, Pennsylvania; two sons, George Tegzes, Panama, and Jeffrey (Abbe) Tegzes, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A daughter, Mary Susan Batchelor, two sisters, Alice Rieland and Mary Virginia Bauer, and a grandson are deceased. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 1, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church by Fr. Charles Howell.
