Annette “Maw” Ward, 86, of Versailles, widow of William R. Ward, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at her home. Born in Missoula, Mont., she was the daughter of the late Hugo M. and Willa Williams Marquard. She was a retired clerk at Glenda’s Hallmark Store and Your Hardware. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie (Rick) Gilliam, Versailles; a son, John W. (Denise Washburn) Ward, Versailles; two grandchildren, Shelly (Jimmy) Praria, Versailles, and Mike (Nikki) Gilliam, Lexington; and five great-grandchildren, Brad Praria, MacKenzie Praria, Andrew Gilliam, Carter Gilliam, and Cooper Gilliam. A sister, Sandra Gingery, is deceased. A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, Nov. 30. at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home with a eulogy by Steve Ward. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
