Chamber elects new board members

The Woodford County Chamber of Commerce membership recently elected two members to serve on the board of directors staring in 2017.

Whitney Dunlap - Whitney Dunlap has a BA from Miami University and a juris doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Woodford County, Madison County (former president) and Estill County bar associations, and the Kentucky Defense Counsel. He has practiced insurance defense for 30 years, trying numerous cases in the state and federal courts throughout Central, Northern and Eastern Kentucky. In conjunction with his trial practice, he has briefed and argued cases in the Kentucky Court of Appeals, Kentucky Supreme Court, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati and the United States Supreme Court. He joined the chamber in April 2016 when he started his law firm in Versailles, and his firm has signed on as a Chamber Partner. Dunlap has attended many chamber functions, including ribbon-cuttings, business after hours and luncheons. He has encouraged his administrative assistant to join the chamber's Woodford County Young Professionals.

Tommy Haggard - Tommy Haggard is the CEO of Bluegrass Community Hospital. He began there July 2010 and before that was at Georgetown Community Hospital and Samaritan Hospital and taught high school chemistry. He has a BA from UK, an MA from WKU and an MBA from Midway University. Community involvement includes chamber of commerce board, being the chairman of the board of directors of the United Way of the Bluegrass for Woodford County, the Woodford Health Consortium, the Healthy Community Coalition, and the Kentucky Bank advisory board. He is also a graduate of Leadership Central Kentucky. Bluegrass Community Hospital is a Chamber Partner.
