Police Reports Versailles police responded to seven injury accidents, 14 non-injury wrecks, one domestic-related complaint, made three arrests and issued two citations/summons. On Nov. 23 at 5:25 p.m., a Ford Ranger driven by Leslie H. Adkins, 62, of Lexington, and a Nissan Versa driven by Russell E. Evangeline, 28, of Lexington, were stopped on Lexington Road at the Shannon Run Road traffic light. Tina Gilbert, 57, of 111 Gaybourne Way, was driving a Toyota Avalon, which rear-ended Adkins's vehicle, which rear-ended Evangeline's vehicle just as the light changed. Gilbert and Adkins were taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say inattention on the part of Gilbert caused the wrecks. On Nov. 24 at 6:19 a.m., a Jeep Cherokee driven by Daniel L. Christian, 20, of 2703 Scotts Ferry Road, was westbound on Steele Road when the vehicle left the right side of the road, reentered the road, rotated and overturned. Christian was treated by EMS personnel at the scene. Police say his vehicle was not under proper control. On Nov. 24 at 7:49 a.m., a Nissan Altima driven by Kally F. Franklin, 33, was northbound on Pinckard Pike entering a curve when her vehicle slid on the wet road and went off the left side of the road. Franklin overcorrected and her vehicle slid across the road, struck a tree, spun and rolled over. She was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say she was driving too fast for conditions and not under proper control. On Nov. 24 at 11:26 a.m., a Dodge Ram driven by Austin J. Wheeler, 22, of Burgin, was eastbound on Huntertown Road in a curve when the vehicle travelled off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole, crossed the road and struck a wire fence and tree. Wheeler was charged with DUI and consented to a blood test at Bluegrass Community Hospital. On Nov. 25 at 1:16 p.m., a Jeep Cherokee driven by April D. Hudson, 22, of 2640 Fords Mill Road, was southbound on Troy Pike. She told police an unknown vehicle drove hers off the road. Hudson's vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a plank fence. She was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital. Police say she was driving too fast for conditions. On Nov. 25 at 1:04 p.m., an International Durastar driven by John Flanery, 61, of Lexington, was southbound on Old Frankfort Pike when the vehicle's right wheels dropped off the side of the road. Flanery lost control and his vehicle crossed the left shoulder of the road, struck a tree, crossed to the right shoulder and struck another tree. He was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say overcorrecting/oversteering was a factor in the crash. On Nov. 29 at 8:29 a.m., a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Tammy E. Henderson, 54, of 225 Paddock Road, was westbound on Lexington Road. A Toyota Camry driven by Katherine C. Tibbs, 34, of Cynthiana, attempted to make a left turn out of the Woodford Pharmacy parking lot and pulled in front of Henderson. Police say inattention and failure to yield on the part of Tibbs caused the crash. Neither driver was taken to a hospital. On Dec. 1, a Lexington Street convenience store reported receiving a forged check worth $2,000. On Nov. 30, police issued a citation for shoplifting $21.58 worth of salmon at Kroger. On Dec. 2, police made an arrest on Green Gables Drive in Midway involving DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and license to be in possession. On Dec. 2, police made an arrest on Tyrone Pike involving DUI and speeding. On Nov. 30, police issued a citation/summons at a Lexington Road grocery for shoplifting $136.23 worth of merchandise. On Nov. 30, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Troy Pike that damaged a fence. On Dec. 2, a drone worth $80 was reported stolen from a convenience store on Main Street. On Dec. 4, a home on Main Street in Midway was reported burglarized and vandalized, with damage estimated at $100. On Nov. 28, a missing persons report was filed on Bryanwood Drive. On Dec. 4, police made an arrest on Cherry Hill Court involving alcohol intoxication in a public place and resisting arrest. On Dec. 3, a credit card and debit card were reported stolen on Chestnut Lane. On Dec. 5, perfume worth $125.98 was reported shoplifted from CVS. On Dec. 2, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Locust Street that damaged a mail van. Fire Reports City Firefighters performed 23 EMS assists and installed two child safety seats during the past week. Firefighters responded to vehicle accidents on Lexington Road and on Huntertown Road Nov. 29, and on Church Street Dec. 5. A grease fire on a stove at a Tyrone Pike residence was out on the arrival of firefighters Nov. 29. An alarm malfunctioned on Elm Street Dec. 5. County Firefighters performed three EMS assists during the past week. Dust in a smoke detector activated an alarm at Taylor Manor Nursing Home Nov. 30. An alarm malfunctioned on Ducker Road Nov. 30.
