Jury trial for Watts must be rescheduled

A Versailles man charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse will return to Woodford Circuit Court on Jan. 4, 2017, so Judge Paul Isaacs can schedule a new jury trial date.

Larry Watts was scheduled to face those felony charges beginning Feb. 13, 2017. However, that trial date conflicted with the judge's regular rule day in Bourbon County.

According to an indictment returned by a Woodford County grand jury, Watts unlawfully subjected a girl to sexual contact when she was unable to consent because she was less than 12 years old. He allegedly committed the acts from May to November 2001.
