Terry Updike, 63, of Versailles, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2016. Born Sept. 28, 1953, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Oliver and Mary Updike. He was a member of Palomar Baptist Church and he worked at Quad/Graphics. Survivors include two sisters, Retta Richardson, Versailles, and Mary Lee (Fred) Lippert, Versailles; two brothers, William Updike, Versailles, and Paul Updike, Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Coleman Updike, and a sister, Charlene Haynes, are deceased. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, Frankfort, by Bro. Joe Moore. Honorary casket bearers will be Beverly Springfield, Wayne Woolums, Mike DeBorde, Mike Richardson, Mike Roark, Kenny Scott, Scott Updike, Preston Lippert, John Smith, Bobby Craig, and Brent Haynes. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
