Garrard

Clara Elizabeth Carl Garrard, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. Born July 18, 1922, in Mt Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Lorena Bryant Carl. She graduated from Sharpsburg High School in 1940 and attended Fugazzi Business College. She was a former employee of Barrett Industries, Midway, the State of Kentucky and Rand McNally, Versailles. She was a member of Versailles Baptist Church and the J.O.Y.E. Sunday School Class. Survivors include two sons, William (Beverly) Mullins, Barbourville, and Michael Mullins, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Shirley Convey, Mims, Fla.; Elizabeth (Larry) DeBell, Versailles, and Carolyn (Larry) Crouch, Versailles; a special nephew, Stanley Carl, Indiantown, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Greg Mullins, Regina (Billy) Stamper, Lisa Mullins, Shannon Gravitt, Stephen Crouch, Jaime (Billy) Cheek, Tech Sgt. William (Melissa) Mullins Jr., MaKeshia Mullins, and Jonathan Mullins; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bert Carl, Versailles; and a sister, Mary Stewart, Sharpsburg. A son, David Mullins; her husbands William Mullins, Leonard Hale and Levi Garrard; three brothers, Gene, James and Pete Carl; and five sisters, Grace Howard, Minnie Harville, Dorothy Groves, Maymie Jackson and Nancye Fannin, are deceased. Services were conducted Monday, Dec. 19, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, by the Rev. Michael Cabell. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sharpsburg. Casket bearers were Jonathan Mullins, Jason Stamper, Austin Cheek, Nicholas Stamper, Caden Stamper and Billy Stamper. Honorary bearer was Stephen Crouch. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry for Woodford County.
