William Clyde Eller, Sr. 71, of Versailles, husband of Gretchen B. Eller, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. Born Aug. 13, 1945, in Washington County, Va., he was the son of the late Richard Lee Eller and Sarah McCracken Lowe. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and was a self-employed carpenter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Melisa (Danny) Eller Lanham, James T. (Leslie) Eller and Richard Eller, all of Versailles; two sisters, Virginia (Bob) Lowe Kramer, Ohio, and Nancy (Doug) Lowe Caudill, Crittenden; two brothers, Jimmy Eller, Lexington, and Dwight David Lowe, Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Ashley W. (Brandon) Hacker, Zachery (Karah) Whattenbarger, Holly W. (Caleb) Long, Kimberly James Eller, William Clyde Eller III, Lillian Eller, Corey Walton, Joseph (Lauren) Sayre and Matthew Sayre; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie Whattenbarger. A son, William Clyde Eller Jr., a sister, Mary Lou Eller Williams, and two brothers, Avery Eller and Charles M. Eller, are deceased. Services were conducted Friday, Feb. 10, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the Woodford Humane Society.
