The Woodford County High School swimming and diving teams were well represented at the KHSAA swimming and diving championships, which was held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25, at the Ralph Wright Natatorium on the University of Louisville campus. In all, 11 swimmers and four divers competed in the competition. The best result this year was made by William Slover of the boys’ one-meter diving team. He finished 14th in the finals. “The season went extremely well,” said Woodford first year head swimming coach Blair Hicks. “I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end a great season. There were lots of best times throughout the season this year. The kids worked extremely hard to get where they are, but it’s not about the hours spent in the pool training or the races we win, it’s about the memories we share as a swim family. I am a super proud coach.” Here are the results for Woodford at state. Girls’ diving Chelsea Call was Woodford’s top girls’ finisher in the one-meter diving event.
