As a light snow began to fall, the Woodford County High School softball team took to its home field for the season opener on Monday, March 13, and scored a 16-0, four-inning, mercy-rule win over Henry Clay. On the mound for the Lady Jackets was senior Bethany Todd, who kept the Lady Blue Devils in check all night long. After getting Henry Clay out in the first inning, Woodford scored four runs in the bottom of the first, two coming on freshman Abby Moffett’s home run in her first at-bat of her high school career. Woodford added five more runs in the second inning, one run in the third inning and six runs in the fourth inning to close out the 16-0 ballgame.
