James Edward Masters Jr., 76, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born May, 14, 1940, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Georgia Cooper Capps and James Edward Masters Sr. He was a horseman by trade and was previously employed at Nuckols Farm Inc. in Midway. Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Masters Whortenbury, Shelbyville, and Charlotte Masters, Lexington; three brothers, Gene (Irene) Masters, Midway, Donald Parker and Billy Parker; four grandchildren, Zachery Cox, Kevin Whortenbury, James Ryan Masters, and Mason Masters; and two great-grandchildren, Makinley Cox and Rilynn Whortenbury. A sister, Wanda Devers, and a brother, Johnny Parker, are deceased. Visitation was held on Monday, April 3, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home.
